Attanagalla Area Estates is the largest Area Estate in Kurunegala Plantations Limited which is 1,095.11 ha and 18 divisions and it is situated in Gampaha district which belongs to Wet Agro Ecological Zone of Western Province. Attanagalla is reputed for its high quality Coconuts and copra. Estate also have Rubber, King Coconut as monocrops and also intercrops such as Rambutan, Durian, Mangosteen, Guawa, Cinnamon, Pepper, Jak and foliage.
Main crop of the Attanagalla Area Estates is Coconut (618.89 ha) which is in 17 divisions except Bebilipitiya division where total land covers Rubber plantations, other than Bebilipitiya division, Dammullahena, Alawalahena, Sapugasuyana and Nugedola divisions have Rubber plantations (138.24 ha).
Attanagalla division has the foliage project. Dammullahena and Sapugasuyana divisions have King Coconut plantations (3.53 ha and 1.41 ha respectively). Attanagalla Area Estates have been planted Rambutan (82.97 ha), Durian (17.58 ha), Mangosteen (0.67 ha), Guava (0.81 ha), Cinnamon (42.67 ha), Pepper (11.65 ha), Jak (25.64 ha) Avocado (4.02 ha) and Areca nut (3.4 ha) as intercrops under the main crop Coconut.
DAMBADENIYA AREA ESTATES
The total land area of the Dambadeniya Area Estates is 462.18 ha and the Estate has 12 divisions situated in Kurunegala district which belongs to Inter Mediate Agro Ecological Zone of North Western Province. Main plantation of the estate is Coconut and also Cinnamon and Cashew have been grown as intercrops.
Main crop of the Estates is Coconut (353.08 ha) and the Coconut is established in all divisions. Cinnamon (0.97 ha) and Cashew (12.16 ha) has been planted as intercrops under Coconut. Cinnamon plantation is established in New Foundland division and the Cashew is in the Awaragoda (1.96 ha) and Galpeluma (10.2 ha) division.
DODANGASLANDA AREA ESTATES
Dodangaslanda Area Estates situated in Kurunegala district which belongs to Inter Mediate Zone of North Western Province. The total extent of the Estate is 690.73 ha and the Estate has 9 divisions. The main crop of Dodangaslanda estates is Coconut and reputed for its high quality Pepper. Estates also has Rubber and Intercrops such as Cinnamon, Cocoa, Nutmeg and Sour Sap.
Coconut (457.41 ha) is the main crop of the division which is in all division. Out of 9 divisions, only one division called Panagamuwa has 14.89 ha of Rubber plantations.
Dodangaslanda Area Estates has intercrops such as, Cinnamon (15.36 ha), Pepper (23.5 ha), Cocoa (14.08 ha), Nutmeg (6.61 ha) and Sour sap (9.97 ha). Cinnamon is established in the Dodangaslanda (5.76 ha) and Panagamuwa (9.6 ha) divisions. Dodangaslanda (19.6 ha) and Imbulangoda (3.9 ha) divisions has Pepper plantations. Cocoa intercropping is in the Panagamuwa (11.72 ha) and Imbulangoda (2.36 ha) divisions. Nutmeg and Sour sap intercropping is established in Imbulangoda division of the Estate.
HIRIYALA AREA ESTATES
The total land area of the Estates is 980.21 ha. Hiriyala Area Estates has 15 divisions, out of these divisions, Dhathusenapura is situated in Anuradhapura district, Dry Zone and other 14 divisions situated in Kurunegala district, Intermediate Zone of Sri Lanka. The main crop of Hiriyala Area Estates is Coconut. Paddy, Teak and Kumbuk are grown as monocrops. Estates also has Intercrops such as TJC Mango, Dragon Fruit, Cinnamon, and Cashew.
The main crop of the Estate is Coconut (665.72 ha). Hiriyala Area Estates has 37.77 ha of Paddy cultivations in Ganewatte (1.6 ha), Galkandegama (0.7 ha), Madurakanchiya (4.47 ha), Kurakkana (2.51 ha) and Dhathusenapura (28.49 ha) divisions. Neriyawa division has 2 ha of Teak plantation and 1.4 ha of Kumbuk plantation.
Mango, Dragon Fruit, Cinnamon and Cashew intercropping have been established under Coconut. TOM EJC Mango plantations is located in Ganewatte (9.12 ha) and Dhathusenapura (15.04 ha) divisions. 3.46 ha of Dragon Fruit plantation is in the Ganewatte division of the Estate. Dematawa division has the 3.5 ha of Cinnamon intercropping. Cashew plantations have been established in Neriyawa (35.39 ha), Neligama (7.7 ha), Galkandegama (26.64 ha) and Dhathusenapura (9.81 ha) divisions.
KATUGAMPOLA AREA ESTATES
Katugampola Area Estates is situated in Kurunegala district which belongs to Inter Mediate Agro Ecological Zone of North Western Province. The total land area of the Estate is 617.12 ha and the Estate has 14 divisions. Main plantation of the estate is Coconut. Paddy has grown as moncrop and Cinnamon, Pepper, Durian and Cashew are grown as intercrops.
Coconut (589.97 ha) is the main crop and Katugampola Area Estates has 5.42 ha of Paddy cultivations. Durian (9.49 ha), Cinnamon (11.11 ha), Pepper (19.17 ha) and Cashew (63.11 ha) plantations have been undertaken as intercrops under Coconut. Durian and Pepper plantations are located at Kithulakele and Horawadunna divisions respectively. Walakumburumulla (0.19 ha), Kankaniyamulla (3.12 ha), Kurunduwatte (0.8 ha) and Makandura (7 ha) divisions has the Cinnamon plantations. Cashew intercropping is at Kotikanda (13.18 ha), Paragammana (8.21 ha), Walakumburumulla (34.36 ha) and Kankaniyamulla (7.36 ha) divisions.
KPL had been setup a Predator Mite (Neoseiulus baraki) Breeding Laboratory in May, 2012 at Walakumburumulla division of Katugampola Area Estates in order to control the Coconut mite (Aceria guerreronis) infestation in the KPL’s Estates.
KURUNEGALA AREA ESTATES
Kurunegala Area Estates has 555.80 ha of land and 10 divisions. The estate is situated in Kurunegala district which belongs to Inter Mediate Agro Ecological Zone of North Western Province. Main plantation of the estate is Coconut. Cashew, Guava and Pepper are grown as intercrops.
Coconut (491.14 ha) is the main crop of the Estate. Mailagama division has 0.6 ha of Guava and Silvakanda division has 7.1 ha of Pepper plantations. Goluwakada (36.41ha) and Kalatuwapelessa (6.12 ha) divisions has Cashew plantations.
NARAMMALA AREA ESTATES
Narammala Area Estates is situated in Kurunegala District which belongs to Inter Mediate Zone of North Western Province. The total extent of the Estate is 550.55 ha and the Estate has 9 divisions. The main crop of Narammala Area Estates is Coconut. Plantations of Rubber and Kumbuk are grown as monocrops. Estate also have Intercrops such as Pepper, Areca Nut and Cashew.
The main crop of the Estate is Coconut (448.85 ha). 3.3 ha of Kumbuk plantation is at the Gananketiya division. The Narammala Area Estate have been undertaken Pepper (11.49 ha) intercropping in four divisions; Kolawathurayaya (8.54 ha), Mahawatte (0.47 ha), Rajasanthaka (1.1 ha) and Welihitiyawa (1.38 ha). The Estate has 0.75 ha of Areca Nut plantations at Welihitiyawa division and 14.9 ha of Cashew plantations at Murugamale division.
